Instant payment experience
Clients click “Pay by card” on the invoice, enter their card details, and it's done. The invoice marks itself paid the moment the card clears.
Straight into your account
Stripe pays out directly to your bank account. Invio uses Stripe Connect direct charges — your money, in your account, not held in escrow.
Connect Stripe in minutes
The setup happens once. After that, every invoice you send has a card payment option built in.
Open Settings → Payments
In your Invio account, go to Settings and click on the Payments tab.
Complete Stripe onboarding
Click 'Connect with Stripe'. Stripe's hosted flow verifies your identity (KYC) and links your NZ bank account. Takes around 5 minutes.
Send invoices as normal
A "Pay by card" button now appears on every invoice you send. Nothing else changes — your workflow stays the same.
Know exactly what you'll pay
No surprises. Card processing fees are clearly shown before you complete Stripe onboarding.
Stripe processing fee
~2.65% + $0.30 per successful card payment. Standard Stripe NZ rate for Visa, Mastercard, and eftpos cards.
Invio platform fee
0.5% per card payment. This covers the Stripe Connect infrastructure that routes money directly to your account.
Pass fees to your client
You can opt to add a card surcharge at checkout so your client covers the processing cost, rather than absorbing it yourself.
NZD and NZ cards
Payments are in New Zealand dollars. Stripe handles currency conversion if a client pays from overseas.
Getting paid and refunding
Once Stripe is connected, payments and refunds are handled right inside Invio:
Invoice auto-marks paid the moment the card clears — no manual update needed
Stripe pays out to your NZ bank account on Stripe's standard payout schedule
Need to refund? Issue a full refund from inside Invio — the client's card is refunded and the platform fee is returned to you
Partial refunds are handled directly through your Stripe dashboard
